Eco v Chemical cleaners

Nature has always provided humans with highly effective cleaning ingredients which are kinder to the environment and safe to use.

Chemical based cleaners cause or exacerbate certain allergies, asthma and skin disorders like eczema and negatively impact the environment

Whereas Delphis Eco cleaners biodegrade, chemical cleaners do not break down & this threatens water quality, fish and wildlife.

Avoiding chemicals makes our homes and workplaces healthier for us all.

Cost-effective, carbon-cutting, plastic-saving. What’s not to like?

Decide for yourself by reading more about the benefits of our Delphis Eco range of plant based cleaners here

Managing Cross Infection

We've all become aware that sanitisers are effective in neutralising the virus.

The Delphis Eco range includes hand sanitiser with refillable personal dispenser & surface cleaning sanitiser which is available in ready to use spray bottles or as a concentrate using a pelican pump to dispense 30ml into an empty spray bottle (less than 11p a bottle).

Handwashing works by removing the virus from the part of our body most likely to pick it up.  This reduces the chance of transferring the virus to our eyes, mouth or nose where the virus can enter our body. Try our Anti-Bacterial Hand Soap in 500ml & 5L

Delphis Eco cleaning products are free from the following

phosphonate and phosphate

Phosphate is a water-softening mineral additive that has been used widely in laundry detergents and other cleaners. When phosphates enter waterways, they act as a fertilizer which spawns an overgrowth of algae which depletes the water's oxygen supply, killing off fish and other organisms.

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid (EDTA)

EDTA is a chelating agent that is common in household and commercial cleaning products. EDTA doesn’t break down much in the natural environment, making it a persistent pollutant, which also contributes to the remobilisation of heavy metals. EDTA is also potentially harmful to people and animals, causing problems from nausea, to kidney damage.

Alkylphenol Ethoxylates (APEs)

When APEs escape into the environment, they break down into chemicals called nonylphenols. Nonylphenols contaminate the food chain, including human breast milk, blood, and urine, are lethal to fish at low

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

VOCs are able to evaporate under normal indoor conditions but can cause indoor air pollution and adversely impact the health of people and animals particularly those with underlying conditions like asthma.

Health Benefits

Problem : Acid based cleaning chemicals negatively affect our air and water.

  • If the air we breath is contaminated it can cause skin and respiratory irritation.
  • Corrosive cleaners like drain cleaners, oven cleaners and acidic toilet cleaners are dangerous to humans and wildlife when flushed into our water system.
  • Fragrances added to cleaners, such as laundry detergents and fabric softeners, are known to affect allergy and asthma sufferers.

Solution : Delphis Eco products

  • plant/enzyme based (enzymes eat their way organically through dirt)
  • biodegradable
  • phosph(on)ate free
  • harmless when diluted

Cost Benefits

Savings are possible by switching from ready-to-use cleaners to concentrates which are diluted at point of use.

Each 5ltr bottle of concentrated Bio Washroom Cleaner, Anti-Bacterial Sanitiser & Multi-Purpose Cleaner dilutes into 166 trigger bottles which equates to less than 11p per 750ml trigger bottle.

Using concentrates with refillable spray bottles reduces the storage space required.
